Alex gave a special talk

on Corpora, NLP and Textomes to first- and second-year undergraduate students at the invitation of the School of Foreign Languages at Beihang University on 21 October 2016. The talk was enthusiastically received and resulted in many interested questions from the audience.

Welcome to Guoxiao and Vivianne

who have recently joined the DSG as PhD students. Vivianne received her second degree from UCL. Guoxiao, in HK as part of a joint PhD training programme, is enrolled at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

 
Alex visited Jinan University in Guangzhou, China on 30 June 2016

and gave an invited talk on Semantic Schemes and Event-Based Spatial Annotation for Language Resource Management at the School of Foreign Languages and the School of Informatics.
